Description

The Inn is located on the shore of the majestic Saguenay Fjord and the Marine Park. Its warm family Inn atmosphere will fascinate you as much as the quality of its services and its fine regional cuisine. Here is a description of the Inn as portrayed by a local artist... It offers all the commodities of a city Inn, with its efficient and professional services and its warm and cosy bedrooms. But it is also an open window to the magnificent sunrises, to boats that wait patiently in front of the terrace, on the slopes of the Fjord to begin their excursion on the river... all right in front of the Inn! It is also the scent of regional flavours being re-invented over and over since the arrival of the first 21 settlers who founded La Baie in 1838. It is also holds some of the most prestigious wines in the world, preciously kept in one of the most important cellars in the region. Last but not least, it is Nicole and Marcel Bouchard's dedication, true professionals of the gourmet profession, who have managed to retain the legendary warmth of the region's hospitality.

Culinary Experience

It has only taken 13 years for this Inn to become an envied spot among the Gourmet Relays of Québec. Preference is given to local produce, especially little known wild, edible plants such as bulruches, pimbina, chicoutees, wild violets and mayflowers, to create an updated cuisine inspired by local traditions and Amerindian recipes.

With great dexterity and finesse, the chef and owner, Marcel Bouchard varies his menu each week to satisfy and surprise his numerous and faithful customers. He also promotes indigenous products at fairs, festivals and culinary demonstrations. Because l'Auberge des 21 is constantly in search of excellence at all levels, it has acquired an outstanding reputation by using fresh products of transformed on location combined with impeccable table service. That is how it has become so recommended in its proud region.
