Description

La Tablee des Chefs is a non-profit organisation founded in 2002 by a student of l'ITHQ.  Its mission consists of providing the framework for the restaurant industry to get involved in the preparation of food and/or redistribution of its food surpluses through the network of Quebec Moissons.

La Tablee des Chefs is committed to:

  • Being the instrument of choice for all chefs in Quebec when it comes to community involvement.
  • Establishing norms and a code of ethics pursuant to the handling of prepared foods.
  • Favouring training initiatives within member community orgaizations on the subjects of hygiene, cleanliness and food handling.
  • Facilitating the participation of donors and their involvement with the Moissons.
  • Encouraging communication between our donor and receiver members.
  • Furnishing the items necessary to food surplus redistribution.
  • Demonstrating that the restaurant and hotel industries are doing their part in the fight against hunger in Quebec.
  • Raising awareness of the hunger problems in Quebec with the future professionals attending Quebec's hotel and restaurant management school.
  • Allowing the sharing of knowledge and know how between professionals and beneficiaries to favour healthy and affordable eating habits.

In 2006, La Tablee des Chefs will be establishing a permanent office. This will enable it to coordinate, upon request, the redistribution of the food surplus generated by your meetings and events to local community organizations throughout Quebec.
